> What is a dropstitch kayak?
Dropstitch is a material with threads on the inside, these allow the shape to be flat rather than round when inflated. Combined with the high quality PVC, allows it to be inflated to a higher pressure, 10 PSI, the benefit being it is almost solid feeling, allowing the kayak to glide through the water like a plastic kayak.
> Do I need a license to go on UK rivers?
Yes you do, and it can depend on the area you're in. The biggest licenser is the Canal and river trust. We have a blog page about it with more information. Generally you need to check which body licenses the river you want to go on and check their website.
> I've not kayaked before, is it easy to do?
It's very easy! We generally find beginners who try out our kayaks feels completely at home after one or two sessions on the water. While the first minute may feel a tad wobbly you'll soon get used to it.
> Should I get a double or single kayak?
The single kayak is good for lighter travelling and easier to pack away, it's also just a little bit faster in the water. The double kayak can be used as a double or single, so is more versatile if you have the space, and a bit more stable in the water.
> How long will my delivery take?
You should receive the parcel withing 1-2 working days, but if you have any issues please contact us. It will take one extra day to Northern Ireland or remote Scotland. Please get in touch if you have any delivery issues and we will do our best to help.
> What equipment do I need?
The kayaks on our site should have everything you need. However if you're not sure in your abilities it is advised to wear a floating life jacket and helmet.
> What do I do if my kayak is damaged?
The material used is very tough, it's difficult to puncture, even sliding over rocks. However if you do have a puncture, there is a repair kit included. Try watching some videos online to get an idea of how best to use it.
